MH Hares v Silhillians Festival

Despite a cold and wet Sunday, MH Hares travelled to their first festival of the season at Silhillians with high hopes & great determination to do well.

The boys had to play to the best of their ability in every game as the festival was packed with tough opposition. The Hares were a credit to the U10s squad playing & battling for each other – not one of them taking a backward step. They maintained some ferocious tackling & periods of great passing play to reach the final undefeated.

The final saw the Hares face the host Silhillians 1 who had been successful at our own tournament last season. The opposition started very strongly forcing the Hares to concede an early try, a lead they held until half time. The Hares stepped up the pace in the second half and levelled the score early on & were unlucky not to take the lead on several occasions. The game ended 1 – 1 & unfortunately under the festival rules having not scored first the Hares conceded the final.

The boys were undefeated & should take great pride in their performance – the Hares squad were: Josh Manz, Oliver Rodgers, Ben Marlow, Callum Leat, Rowan Moore, Finn Carnduff, Max Pollard, Charlie Dean, James Roffe, Dan Pope, Matthew Reeves & Joe Sterling.
