All Blacks win all four

The All Blacks squad of Seb, Toby, Jamie, Jude, Archie, Ollie, Jacob, Freddie, Thomas and Leo (with Millie helping out the Hurricanes) had an exceptional mornings rugby winning 6-0, 8-0,10-0 and 10-0 and whilst the scoreline is impressive the way in which they went about this was the most impressive bit. Each player in the squad registered a try. For some, like of Jude, Thomas and Archie this was the first of the season and shows how they are really playing as an inclusive team with fantastic support and trust in each others ability.

The coaches are empowering the players to think about the conditions more and what they might do differently because of them as well as other aspects of the game, the questions asked of the players are being met with some great answers and shows that their knowledge and awareness of the game is really growing.

As players they are falling into natural roles within the team with shared responsibilities and all coming to the fore which is great to see as either a parent or coach. The skills they are working on in training are paying off in the games, the counter rucking in particular leading to several turnovers this weekend.

Individually and collectively they are developing and the fact that they won all of the games was not as much of a highlight for them as the fact that they didn't concede a single try all day, that was the thing that pleased them most!

The defense was outstanding as was the competition at the breakdown this leading to many an attacking opportunity. In training we will continue to work on certain aspects of the game which are important to get right but with a continued coaching philosophy of having the squad play heads up rugby and being able to deal with different types of oppositions, conditions and getting the players to problem solve themselves out of situations .

Some of the All Blacks squad will now join up with players from the Hurricanes, Tigers and Mammoths to represent the U10's in the County Cup preliminary round next week.

All of the U10's players and coaches would like to wish that squad the very best of luck!
