David Beadnall Wins High Sheriff Award

MHRUFC Volunteer rugby coach, David Beadnall, wins high sheriff award for bringing children and families together in Harborough.

U6 Lead Coach David Beadnall was nominated for a High Sheriff Volunteers Award which recognises those who have made a difference in their community.

David was awarded the High Sheriff if Leicestershire volunteers award after setting up a children’s rugby group in Covid, followed by leading the U6 age group at MHRUFC. David, along with the coaches and team managers—who are all parents. Dave volunteers his time to the club where his group is attended by over 50 children.

Liz Critchley, who nominated David, arranged a celebration at the club where the High Sheriff of Leicestershire John Chatfeild-Roberts presented him with his award. Also in attendance were former Rugby Union International player Tim Stimpson and club Chair Richard Lainchbury, who presented Dave with his Rugby Coach Hero award and players, coaches, parents, family and friends.

Liz Critchley said “Despite having a demanding career working for a children’s home charity, Dave spends his evenings planning and organising the training and arranging other events for the children and parents. These experiences undoubtedly help to develop personal confidence and provide lasting memories for all.

Thank you to Dave and to all of our club volunteers for your time and efforts put in to help running the club. You make it the great place it is and we thank you for that.
